November Senate By-Election
With the resignation of Glaciosia from the Senate at 7:42AM on November 3rd of this year, a by-election was conducted by the Office of the Chancellor to fill the empty seat.
The candidacy form for the November Senate By-Election accepted responses from 1:30 PM EST on November 4th to 1:30 PM EST on November 6th, after which a list of candidates was released. Comlogical, Kingdom of Sacento, and Zeneste submitted candidacy forms. One form was invalidated due to not holding citizenship as designated on the Ministry of the Census’ citizenship spreadsheet. There was a campaign period from 1:30PM EST on November 6th to 11:30 PM EST on November 9th. At 11:56 on November 8th, Zeneste formally withdrew from the race. Subsequently, Zeneste was not included on the ballot.
The election ballot was announced and accepted responses from 11:30 PM EST on November 9th to 11:30 PM EST on November 11th. In total, 23 ballots were submitted, of which 20 ballots were valid and three ballots were invalidated. Two ballots were invalidated due to submission past the cutoff time and one ballot was invalidated due to not holding citizenship as designated on the Ministry of the Census Citizenship spreadsheet.
Of the valid ballots, Kingdom of Sacento earned an average placement of 1.55, Comlogical earned an average placement of 1.7, and Re-Open Nominations earned an average placement of 2.75. Thus, Kingdom of Sacento was elected to the Senate.
