March Senate By-Election
The Constitution of the Union of Democratic States states that "should an office be vacant, the office shall be filled via an election or appointment as provided for in this constitution." As Nuevo San Miguel resigned following the February Presidential Election, a By-Election was held for the vacant Senate seat.
The candidacy form for the March Senate By-Election accepted responses from 9:00 PM EST on March 3rd to 9:00 PM EST on March 5th, after which a list of candidates was released. Alkonosta, Kanglia, and Stewbone all submitted candidacy forms for the March Senate By-Election. The March Senate By-Election ballot accepted responses from 1:30 AM EST on March 8th to 1:30 AM EST on March 10th. In total, 15 ballots were submitted, all of which were valid.
Of the valid ballots, Kanglia earned an average placement of 1.13, Re-Open Nominations earned an average placement of 2.73, Stewbone earned an average placement of 3.00, and Alkonosta earned an average placement of 3.13. Thus, Kanglia was elected to the Senate.
