February Senate By-Election
The Constitution of the Union of Democratic States states that "should an office be vacant, the office shall be filled via an election or appointment as provided for in this constitution." As two Senate seats were left vacant following the January Senate Election, a By-Election was held for the remaining seats.
The candidacy form for the February Senate By-Election accepted responses from 9:00 PM EST on February 7th to 9:00 PM EST on February 9th, after which a list of candidates was released. Davinmark, Germanic Sub-Factions, Immunoria, Nuevo San Miguel, and The Glorious Hypetrain submitted candidacy forms for the February Senate By-Election. The February Senate By-Election ballot accepted responses from 1:00 AM EST on February 12th to 1:00 AM EST on February 13th. In total, 20 ballots were submitted, of which 18 ballots were valid and two ballots were invalid. Both ballots were invalidated due to being submitted past the cutoff time.
Of the valid ballots, The Glorious Hypetrain earned an average placement of 2.28, Nuevo San Miguel earned an average placement of 2.44, Davinmark earned an average placement of 3.61, Re-Open Nominations earned an average placement of 4.00, Germanic Sub-Factions earned an average placement of 4.17, and Immunoria earned an average placement of 4.50. Thus, The Glorious Hypetrain and Nuevo San Miguel were elected to the Senate.
