A MOTION
To enact the bill "Referendum on converting the Region into a social region."
Introduced into the Council of State of the Union of Democratic States on the DAY of MONTH, YEAR, by @Phoenix.
As follows:
BELIEVING that the region has naturally ran it's course with Gameplay (GP) related matters,
CONTENDING that the region has historically produced a number of prominent gameplayers, establishing ties to NationStates' history that will not be easily forgotten.,
BE IT ENACTED by the Council of State:
Section 1: Provisions
1. To provide the region with a symbolic and legitimate gesture of retirement to a more social region, ensuring that everyone's voice can be heard, this motion will provide the basis for this special referendum below.
a. This referendum will follow the same procedures provided for in the Constitution and other law that specifically mentions referendums.
b. This referendum, for the same amount of time that is provided for in the relevant law, should be presented to the region on NationStates as a poll as well.
c. A symbolic gesture of the legislature and by extension, the region itself, doesn't need all the bells and whistles that the Election Commission usually goes through, a simple forum thread accessible by every citizen is acceptable, as a suggestion.
2. Should this pass, the following will take place:
a. The regional government, in whole or part, which shall be decided by the Directors, will be dismissed.
b. All current members of the CoS will be dismissed.
c. The forums will be in archival state, with one or two forums still allowing posts to be created. Registering and using the forums in a manner to more quickly get your roles from the forum will still be permissible as well.
d. Parts of the constitution will just be ignored, as per usual for our region due to the overall inactivity of the region. Don't worry, if a sudden surge of activity suddenly comes back, you'll be the first one to know that the constitution will not be ignored anymore (or attempted at least).
